Let's see how we can always have with you passwords, PIN codes, credit card information or other data that interest us in a secure and simple.

CASE 1 - Using a USB key on a PC with Windows:

  1. Download the stand-alone BktPersonalData
  2. Create a folder with name of your choice on your USB stick
  3. Decompress the file you downloaded in step 1 in this folder
  4. From this run the file BktPersonalData.exe the only one who has an icon depicting two keys
  5. Create one or more files to save data with the New button
  6. When you insert the memory stick in another PC just go to the folder created in step 2 and run BktPersonalData.exe

This system is very simple but has the disadvantage of being closely linked to the USB stick and if we lose or damage we risk losing all the data, and should periodically make a backup on another device.

CASE 2 - Using DropBox on a PC with Windows and smartphone/tablet Android

  1. Download and install DropBox
  2. Follow the instructions to create an Free account
  3. Download the BktPersonalData installer version
  4. Run the Setup
  5. When prompted for the BktPersonalData installation folder click Browse and select the DropBox folder (usually under the user name)
  6. Finish the installation
  7. Run BktPersonalData
  8. Create one or more files to save data with the New button

Use DropBox and BktPersonalData on another PC:

  1. Download and install DropBox
  2. DO NOT create a new account but use the previously created
  3. Open the folder by double clicking DropBox icon that has been created on the Desktop or in trybar
  4. Enter the folder BktPersonalData and double click on BktPersonalData.exe
  5. Automatically be found all of our data previously created, and if we add or modify data you will find them automatically installed on all PCs with DropBox configured on our account.

Use DropBox BktPersonalData and on a smartphone or tablet Android

  1. Download and install BktPersonalData and  DropBox on our smartphones/tablet Android
  2. DO NOT create a new account but use the previously created
  3. Run DropBox and enter the folder BktPersonalData
  4. Click on our data files (extension. BKT) created earlier
  5. If required click BktPersonalData to open the file itself
  6. Enter the password
  7. Open files from DropBox that, when changed, will take care to update automatically to other devices
  8. If you create a new data file on Android BktPersonalData must log in to DropBox and click Upload to upload the file and share it with other devices, but changes to an existing file will be updated automatically DropBox

Use in combination with DropBox BktPersonalData offers the great advantage of not having to rely on a hardware device and also our data will be updated in real time on all devices that use DropBox on our account.

A last consideration BktPersonalData uses a sophisticated encryption algorithm, if you forget your passwords can not retrieve it.
